This internship program is built around giving students direct, hands-on experience working with real businesses. Interns don't just observe or assist on internal projects. They communicate with business owners, solve real problems, and build practical skills that translate directly into the workforce.
Why We Built This Program
Localfy was founded with students in mind. As a recent graduate, our founder struggled to find internships that offered meaningful, real-world experience. Many opportunities were either unpaid, highly competitive, or focused on minor tasks that didn't build practical skills.
Because of that experience, it became important to us to create opportunities where students could:
- Work with real clients
- Build communication and sales skills
- Learn how small businesses actually operate
- Earn income based on their performance
- Leave with experience they can confidently talk about in interviews
Our goal is simple: give students the kind of opportunity we wish we had.
What Interns Actually Do
Localfy interns work directly with small business owners to:
- Learn how to introduce and explain real products and services
- Practice professional communication and outreach
- Understand business needs and recommend solutions
- Gain confidence speaking with clients
- Build real, resume-ready experience
Skills Students Gain
Interns in the program typically develop:
Flexible and Student-Focused
We designed the program to work around student schedules. Interns can:
- Work remotely: no commute, work from anywhere
- Set their own hours: you decide when you work
- Scale involvement: ramp up or down during the semester
- Maintain balance: gain experience without interfering with coursework
